Modern Bedding on Sale at West Elm

I'm searching for some new bedding, and in my searches I came across the Octagon Jacquard Duvet Cover and Shams from West Elm:



A set of 2 shams is only $9.99 and the comforter is $103 - $127, depending on the size. That's a pretty good deal for such cool bedding. I absolutely love the bright, bold, graphic pattern. It's very Jonathan Adler-esque, and waking up in that bed would make me very happy. Sadly, the color does not go with our room so I have to find something more subdued. But I can imagine a lovely bedroom (in a house near the beach perhaps?) with a fun orange and white theme (I'm not wild about the bedding with the dark wood headboard shown above; a glossy white bed frame would be better, in my opinion) that would keep a smile on your face.

I was thinking of waiting until Monday to post this, but I couldn't resist! I came across a company called Delia's Shades tonight on Apartment Therapy, and I am completely in love. If only I didn't have window treatments already!

I am going absolutely insane over these! What a nice option instead of boring shades or more traditional curtains. Oh, I'm going to have to save up for these for our next place!

Drinking Glasses

I think these glasses are too cool for school:



From Uncommon Goods, these Illusion Wine Glasses come as a set of 4 for $75. They are dishwasher safe which is absolutely crucial for me and my unfussy life. They look great with red wine (not quite as much of an impact with white wine), punch, grape juice, etc., and I think they are a fabulous gift for a red wine enthusiast with modern taste.

Not Your Grandma's Cuckoo Clock

I apologize for the lack of posts over the last two days, but between some internet connection problems and a stomach bug I was out of commission. Fear not, I'm back now, and I have lots to share with you.

I can't help but write a post about this cuckoo clock that I love:



The Cuckoo Clock by Tobias Reischle is from the MoMA store and costs $375 ($300 for members). It's not often that you see a cuckoo clock in someone's home, but wouldn't this make you smile if you came across it? The stark contrast between the black and the white creates a very modern take on a traditional form, and it brings the cuckoo clock into the new millenium (which, I suppose, isn't really that new any more). At $375 it isn't exactly a steal, so for a less expensive version, check out the Trompe L'oeil Wall Clock from Urban Outfitters.



At only $20, this take on the cuckoo clock is much more affordable, but it lacks the cuckoo. The clock is mounted on a vinyl wall sticker which maintains the cuckoo clock form in yet another modern way.

One final option, also from UO, is the Neon Cuckoo Clock for $10.



This clock comes is neon pink or green, and for $10, is a steal. It is made of plastic, and the bird doesn't actually move, but it's a cute option for someone who needs some color on their wall.
