10.28.11 New Camera!

After much research, I decided to stick with Nikon and went with the D5100 (it was an early Christmas/Hannukah gift, so I am feeling incredibly lucky to have been given such a lovely gift!).  I have had it now for only a few hours, but I am having so much fun playing with it.  Here are some scenes from the last few hours:

I didn't take enough photos today so the pickings were slim.  And I still have to get in the habit of bringing my real Nikon around with me - the iPhone is just so darn compact and handy!

A New Love

I am taking a pottery class on Tuesday nights and I am absolutely loving it.  Just last night I glazed my first three pieces, so hopefully next week I will finally have a finished product.  I'm not sure how beautiful they will be (glazing wasn't quite as simple as I'd imagined it would be!), but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Sweet P turns 5!

Five years ago today I became a mother and my world was rocked in the best way possible.  Our sweet lady came into the world tush first, and it has been a crazy, wild, and fun adventure ever since.  Happy Birthday, sweet P!

Last night, after she went to bed, we decorated with paper chains...

...and flowers! She was so excited this morning when she came downstairs.

So far her favorite gift was her Twinkle Toe sneakers, seen on the left.

iphone + Jonathan Adler = design happiness!

Ever since I bought my iphone, I have been looking for a cover that I really loved, that truly expressed my style (because, really, it is another accessory).  I had a somewhat plain pink cover that served its purpose, but today I found a cover that is exactly my taste and I couldn't be happier:
