365 Project: Day 79

Day 79 (Monday, March 19):

sorry that this is a little nasty-looking,
but someone lost another tooth!
she was eating an apple -
it really does work!

Spruce Up

It has been a while since I've posted something other than photos, and when I came across this earlier this week, I knew it was something I had to share:

Wow.  Thrilling, right?  Ok, let me explain.

Pretty Pegs is a Swedish company that makes replacement legs for IKEA furniture!  No more of those terrible screw-on, metal, cheap-looking legs for your new sofa or bed.  Seriously, the possibilities are endless.  The photos above only show you a tiny selection of their legs.  They have tons of styles in tons of colors, and they really are quite attractive.  Combine some Pretty Pegs with your Bemz slipcover, and your IKEA furniture will look unique and high-end, but with those lovely IKEA prices.

I know, too exciting, huh?

365 Project: Days 76 - 78

Day 76 (Friday, March 16):
the girls and i went to watch b's soccer game
(he is the assistant coach for the girls jv team).
p had so much fun rolling down the hill,
almost completely oblivious to the game.
and there's b on the sidelines, watching his team.
l and i were on the top of the hill -
she was having some trouble figuring out how to roll down.

Day 77 (Saturday, March 17):

what a great day!
we started off with p's soccer game at 8:45am,
followed by a little bbq/pit fire at my pottery teacher's house.
it was a day of fun people, happy kids, happy adults,
and of course one very naughty leprechaun who left a mess in the girls' rooms!

Day 78 (Sunday, March 18):
b was on the computer all day, writing reports,
so the gals and i went out for an afternoon scoot
(well, they were scooting, i was walking).
p found three dandelions for us all to make a wish.
love these moments with my gals.
i didn't love the moment shortly after this photo was taken
when we saw a rather large snake in the little creek right beside us!
needless to say, we went home after that.

365 Project: Days 71 - 75

Day 71 (Sunday, March 11):

finally home again.
b took the girls to dylan's candy bar, and l chose this lollipop.
we figured sunday morning was as good a time as any to let her finally eat it.

 Day 72 (Monday, March 12):

p had a big dental day.
the morning started with two cavities filled at the dentist (she is incredibly brave).
and that night she lost her first tooth.
she was so excited and giddy, she was nearly in tears.
it was incredibly wonderful to see and experience.
the tooth fairy brought her a "golden coin."
she couldn't have been happier.

Day 73 (Tuesday, March 13):

before their gymnastics class, the girls made a block city.
they wouldn't let me look until they were ready.
they used every single block, and it really was awesome.
finally, they worked together on something without trying to harm one another!
success.

 Day 74 (Wednesday, March 14):

an unseasonably warm day called for gelato.
those girls love their sweets.
they were silent for a good 15 minutes while they ate.
so funny.

Day 75 (Thursday, March 15):

another warm day, so we had friends over for some backyard fun.
we broke out the bathing suits and the sprinkler.
i love this photo.

365 Project: Days 68 - 70

Some more from our trip to NYC!

Day 68 (Thursday, March 8):
we went and got manis and pedis
which very well may be one of the best and biggest treats for the girls.
there were rose petals in our foot tubs.
the gals were in heaven.

Day 69 (Friday, March 9):
walking down the street in nyc you always see flowers for sale.
these are in front of a florist around the corner from my parents' apartment.
l liked "that one."

Day 70 (Saturday, March 10):
i guess our nyc adventures tuckered p out.
she rarely naps or falls asleep in the car,
but driving back home to richmond put her right to sleep.
sweet girl.

365 Project: Days 61 - 67

I may not be on time with my posts, but I'm still taking the photos and loving this little project.
Last week we went up to NYC to visit my parents and explore NYC (have I told you we're moving back this summer? I can't wait), and we had a blast!  I was grinning from ear to ear while we walked all over that incredible town.

Day 61 (Thursday, March 1):
i was napping in her bed, still sick with the flu.
she sat and played
and read books.

Day 62 (Friday, March 2):

still sick and totally bumming.
at least we had fun books to read.
but a boring photo overall.

Day 63 (Saturday, March 3):
we all got our for a walk.
l had to bring her froggy backpack.
she needed to find her chapstick, in the middle of the road.

Day 64 (Sunday, March 4):
on the train from dc to nyc.
my seat is always a hot spot.
isn't yours?

 Day 65 (Monday, March 5):

we drove out to coney island to explore.
bummer that the rides weren't open, but fun to see and photograph.
we must return in the spring.
 still at coney island.
love ferris wheels - not riding them, but photographing them.
the wonder wheel, baby.

a trip to coney island wouldn't be complete without a hot dog.
nathan's was tasty and a nice way to warm up after the breezy boardwalk.
gotta love nyc!

Day 66 (Tuesday, March 6):
we took the girls to the met.
p loved this painting and i loved watching her look at it.
l almost touched a john singer sargent and i nearly yelped.

Day 67 (Wednesday, March 7):
we went ice skating at wollman rink in central park.
it was 60 degrees and beautiful.
the girls were so excited.
b and i were excited too.
(then we saw the prices - yikes!)
l realized that skating is rather difficult for a 3 year old -
one trip around the rink was enough for her.
p loved it and nearly pulled us down a few times, but she was smiling the entire time.

365 Project - Days 49 - 60

People!  How I have missed you and posting to this sweet little blog.  I have been completely out of commission for the last week with the flu, and boy, now I know why people dread the flu.  Yes, I did get a flu shot in October, but alas, the little nasty bugger still got me.  I still managed to take at least one photo a day, so before the gals start fighting and I have to run, I will get to the photos:

Day 49 (Saturday, Feb. 18):

sweet girl woke up and came downstairs.
she found a cozy spot to sit,
right on the floor in the sun.

 Day 50 (Sunday, Feb. 19):

wrestling in bed.
a daily activity.

Day 51 (Monday, Feb. 20):

snow!
i think it was about 60 degrees the day before and the day after,
but at least we had some snow.
the gals loved playing in it...until their feet were wet and frozen.

Day 52 (Tuesday, Feb. 21):

my girls love blowing bubbles.
they almost took one another out trying to pop the bubbles, though.
i never knew bubble popping could be a contact sport.

Day 53 (Wednesday, Feb. 22):

sweet baby h!
what a little munchkin.
her momma does not like being in photos, but I see you, b!

Day 54 (Thursday, Feb. 23):

70 degrees in the middle of february.
we had to get outside and enjoy the warmth.
and a banana.

Day 55 (Friday, Feb. 24):

another ridiculously warm day.
a perfect day for sweet frog.
l wanted to make sure she didn't miss a drop.

Day 56 (Saturday, Feb. 25):
p resting on the couch.
sweet girl.
this was when momma started feeling the chills and aches.

Day 57 (Sunday, Feb. 26):

and off to bed mommy goes.
this is the view from my bed -
my necklaces and the lovely valentine the girls and b made for me.
i had plenty of time to gaze at their sweet valentine because the flu got me bad.

Day 58 (Monday, Feb. 27):

i was trying to tell l to not blow so hard so the bubbles wouldn't pop.
she was quite perplexed.
but again, the girls love bubbles.
i wanted to be with them without giving them my germs, so outside for us.

Day 59 (Tuesday, Feb. 28):

another view from my bed.
b and the girls went to the store to get me some sick staples (ginger ale, crackers, etc.),
and they brought me a little something to lift my spirits.
they know i love flowers.

Day 60 (Wednesday, Feb. 29):

if i never eat another round cracker it may be too soon.
but the girls loved it.
and staying in their jammies all day long.
