We are very lucky to have an open invitation to my parents' house in Quogue (Long Island) which is about a five minute drive to the beach. While the girls are not ready to swim in the ocean yet, they love running around on the shore, collecting shells, making castles, and just exploring the lovely beach and ocean.
While I could be perfectly happy sitting under an umbrella, reading, all day long, the girls and B would get bored in about 10 minutes, so we have a little tradition of packing up some snacks (sort of a mish mash dinner) and heading to the beach at about 5pm. We usually end up staying for a few hours of fun and relaxation that we all genuinely enjoy. Hopefully this weekend was just the first of many evening picnics at the beach this summer.
